Tony Mwirigi stands with Baba Talisha as he reflects on the tragic accident that changed his family
By Katemarthason Okudo, September 7, 2026Kenyan media personality Tony Mwirigi has offered words of encouragement to photographer and influencer Baba Talisha as he continues to deal with the painful memories surrounding the road accident that claimed the life of his wife.
On Sunday, September 6, 2026, Tony shared a message of support on his Instagram Stories, telling Baba Talisha that he would overcome the challenges he has faced.
“Baba Talisha, you are strong. You shall overcome everything, and one day you will tell the story,” Tony wrote.
The message comes after Baba Talisha opened up about the difficult journey he has gone through since losing his wife in a tragic road accident six years ago.
The accident that changed his family
The accident not only claimed the life of his wife but also left their young daughter, Talisha, with severe brain injuries.

In a candid conversation with a local media station on Friday night, July 25, 2025, Baba Talisha explained how the accident affected his daughter, who was only two years old at the time.
He said his daughter had been born a typical child but developed several conditions following the severe brain injury she suffered in the accident.
According to him, she was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2, ADHD Combined Type, and Dyslexia after the accident.
“She was not born like this, but it is due to the accident we had recently. She was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2, ADHD Combined Type, and Dyslexia,” he explained.
He also recalled the seriousness of her injuries, saying she suffered a concussion at the back of her head, which caused bleeding and swelling in the brain.
Daughter suffered severe injuries
Baba Talisha said the injuries were severe enough to require her admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). “She had a severe brain injury. At the back, she had a concussion, which made blood get to her brain so it swelled; that is why she was admitted to the ICU,” he said.

He further explained that she lost her speech after the accident and suffered an injury to her tongue. “She lost speech, her ulimi ilikuwa imekatika yani alirudi kuwa mtoto tu; she was two years old by then, but before the accident, she was a normal kid,” he added.
The experience left the family facing a very different reality from the life they had known before the crash.
Grief and public scrutiny
Beyond dealing with his wife’s death and his daughter’s injuries, Baba Talisha has also had to navigate public scrutiny over the tragedy.
He has previously spoken about painful accusations that followed the accident, including claims that he had sacrificed his wife. Such claims remain accusations and have not been established as fact.
The weight of the experience has also affected him emotionally. In his candid reflections, Baba Talisha spoke about having suicidal thoughts and how difficult the journey has been since the tragedy.
Tony Mwirigi’s message comes against this background, offering support as Baba Talisha continues to process years of grief, responsibility and public attention.
For a family whose life changed in a single road accident, the journey has continued long after the crash, with the effects still shaping their lives today.
