TikToker Geoffrey shares how being labelled a poor performer pushed him to quit high school
By Steve Ireri, July 18, 2026Germany-based Kenyan TikToker Geoffrey has opened up about the painful school experiences that forced him to abandon his education before completing high school, revealing that repeated public humiliation over his academic performance eventually became too much to bear.
Speaking in a TikTok live on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Geoffrey recalled that he consistently struggled in class and often ranked among the poorest-performing students.
According to him, the school had a practice of publicly parading the three worst-performing students before the rest of the learners after examinations, something he said left him deeply embarrassed.
“I remember while in school, I was not performing so well. I was always among the worst-performing students. The last three students would be paraded in front of everyone else,” Geoffrey recalled.
The TikToker said the humiliating routine happened repeatedly, making him dread going to school.
He revealed that he and another girl were regularly among the students singled out because of their grades.
“I remember it was always another girl and me. We used to be the worst-performing students, and we would be paraded every time. The embarrassment was always so heavy,” he added.
Geoffrey said the public shame eventually became unbearable, prompting him to make the difficult decision to stop his education altogether.
He explained that although he studied through Form One, Form Two and Form Three, he never reported for Form Four.
“That was the reason I quit school. I even told my mum that I would not continue with school. I did Form One, Form Two and Form Three, but I never went to Form Four,” he said.

The content creator recalled that what hurt him most was the ridicule from fellow students, saying many of his classmates laughed at him whenever he was called out before the entire school.
“The other students would laugh at us so much. I remember when they used to parade us there, my friends would laugh at me a lot,” Geoffrey said.
Looking back, he believes his education might have taken a different path had he not been subjected to such public humiliation.
“If it were not for that, I know I would have gone beyond Form Four,” he noted.
Despite the painful memories, Geoffrey said life has since surprised him in ways he never imagined.
He revealed that some of the students who used to rank among the best performers are now struggling in life, while some of those who were constantly labelled poor performers have gone on to achieve success.
“Now I remember those students who used to be the best performers. I hear they are not doing so well in life. Yet those of us who were the worst performers are doing well,” he said.
Geoffrey disclosed that one of the former low-performing students now lives in the United States, while he himself has built a life in Germany.
“One of us even went to the USA, and I am here in Germany,” he concluded.
