‘Tafuteni pesa’: Mkamburi Chigogo rejects Sifuna’s Ksh10 fundraising appeal

Radio host Mkamburi Chigogo has responded after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna unveiled a paybill number and appealed for Ksh10 contributions to support the Linda Mwananchi movement.
In her remarks on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Chigogo made it clear that she would not be contributing to the fundraising drive.
“Hatuchangi. Hatuchangi. Ilianza na Reuben Kigame, akaja Maraga, kidogo kidogo Kalonzo. Hapo kwa kupambana, lakini mimi nasema mambo yangu, hatutachanga,” Mkamburi Chigogo said.
Chigogo continued by saying that while other people may choose to contribute, she would not be part of the fundraising. She maintained her position and urged those behind the appeal to look for money elsewhere.
“Kuna wao watachanga, hakukosangi wa kuchanga, lakini sisi hatuchangi. Tafuteni pesa,” Mkamburi Chigogo said.
Sifuna launches fundraising appeal
The remarks came after Sifuna introduced a paybill number for the Linda Mwananchi movement. He appealed to Kenyans to contribute Ksh10 each to help support the movement’s activities and meet its logistical needs.
Sifuna also responded to claims that the movement is funded by wealthy sponsors. He said those making such claims should be consistent, arguing that they cannot say he has financial backers while also claiming he has no money.
“The critics should choose one battle. If I’m someone’s project, then I have money; why do they then say that I do not have money? They should choose one: either I have or do not have money. Either I have a sponsor or do not have one,” Sifuna said.
The Nairobi Senator also explained why the paybill is registered under his name. He said the Linda Mwananchi movement has not yet been registered as a political party, making it necessary to use his official name for the account.
“I want to explain to Kenyans about our paybill. We have not registered Linda Mwananchi as a party, so when we are looking for a paybill account, we use our official names. You will see my name on the paybill. The paybill number is 3033049. You will see the name E Sifuna,” Sifuna said.
He said the movement would keep records of the money collected and explain how the funds are used, adding that accountability would be part of the fundraising process.
