Singer Kendi Kiremi announces breakup with Timmy Tdat

Singer Kendi Kiremi has announced the end of her relationship with rapper Timmy Tdat, saying she has chosen to part ways with him after careful consideration.
Kiremi announced in a statement shared on Friday, August 28, 2026, explaining that she normally keeps matters concerning her private life away from the public.
However, she said the relationship had become increasingly public, particularly during her pregnancy and after the birth of their son.
“I’m not one to put my private business out in public,” Kiremi wrote.
She said she felt it was only right to address the situation publicly because of the attention their relationship had received.
‘I’ve chosen to part’
Kiremi then confirmed that she had decided to end the relationship.
“After much consideration, I’ve chosen to part ways with Timmy Tdat,” she said.
The singer made it clear that the separation was not limited to their romantic relationship.
She said she was no longer Tdat’s wife, girlfriend or business partner.

“I am no longer his wife/girlfriend or business partner,” Kiremi added.
Kiremi did not disclose what led to the breakup and did not make accusations against Tdat.
Instead, she described the decision as one she had reached after giving it considerable thought.
Welcomed their son
The breakup comes a month after the couple welcomed their son, in July 2026.
The two had publicly announced their pregnancy in June through a maternity photoshoot, with Kiremi appearing in a red “Mother to Be” gown while Tdat kissed her baby bump.
Their pregnancy announcement marked a more public chapter in a relationship they had largely kept away from the spotlight.
Tdat, whose real name is Timothy Owuor, later shared moments from the hospital as they welcomed their first child.
Despite the end of their relationship, Kiremi said their son remains the connection between them.
“Other than our wonderful son, we have absolutely nothing else together,” she wrote.
Their love story
Kiremi and Tdat had been together for several years after initially becoming friends and collaborators.
The two also worked together musically, including on the song Control, while keeping much of their relationship private.

Their romance became more visible in 2026 following the pregnancy announcement and the arrival of their son.
Tdat is known for songs including Welle Welle, Dus Nyau and Inaweza, while Kiremi has released tracks such as Confirm, Pinky Swear and Destiny.
