Ruto shares light moment with Omosh One Hour during Siaya tour

By , September 15, 2026

President William Ruto shared a light moment with popular Bunge la Mwananchi vocal member and political activist Shadrack Omondi Orwa, popularly known as Omosh One Hour, during his tour of Siaya County on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The two were seen talking and laughing in Siaya Town as Ruto engaged residents during his tour of the county.

Ruto, who was standing on top of his vehicle, appeared to notice Omosh among the crowd and called him closer for a brief chat.

The two exchanged words and laughed as a speaker addressed residents during the engagement.

Omosh’s political journey

The interaction was particularly notable given Omosh’s history as a staunch supporter of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Omosh was previously known for his strong support for Raila and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), making his friendly exchange with Ruto an interesting moment during the president’s visit to one of the late opposition leader’s political strongholds.

Omosh is also associated with the ODM group led by Raila’s brother, Oburu Odinga, which has adopted a working relationship with Ruto and is backing the President’s bid for a second term in office.

The brief exchange comes as Ruto continues his development tour of Luo Nyanza, with Siaya being his latest stop after engagements in Kisumu.

Ruto’s Siaya tour

According to the President’s itinerary, the Siaya leg of the tour includes inspections of the Dhogoye Bridge in Usenge, the Sihayi-Bar Ober-Sega Road and the Kodiaga-Rabango-Usenge Road.

Ruto is also scheduled to inspect the Alego Usonga Affordable Housing Project and engage residents and local leaders.

The Siaya visit forms part of Ruto’s wider tour of Luo Nyanza, which also covers Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori.

The tour comes at a politically significant period as parties and political leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Ruto’s interaction with Omosh therefore offered a lighter moment during a tour largely focused on development projects and political engagements.

The two appeared relaxed as they chatted briefly before Ruto continued with his motorcade and the day’s programme.
