Kenyan social media personality and influencer Risper Faith has opened up about the challenges of giving birth in the United States, highlighting the high cost of healthcare after childbirth.

In a candid post shared on Thursday, August 20, 2026, Risper noted that while giving birth in the US can be a beautiful experience, the financial burden that comes afterwards can be overwhelming.

She pointed to hospital charges and doctor fees as some of the costs that can make childbirth an expensive experience for families.

“Giving birth in the USA is beautiful… but the bill afterward?” Risper said, highlighting the contrast between the joy of welcoming a baby and the financial pressure that can follow.

She noted that bringing a baby into the world can come with a serious price tag, adding that while motherhood is priceless, healthcare should not feel like a luxury.

“From hospital charges to doctor fees, bringing a baby into the world can come with a serious price tag. Motherhood is priceless, but healthcare shouldn’t feel like a luxury,” she added.

Her remarks have drawn attention to the financial realities that come with accessing maternity care in the US, where families may face different healthcare costs depending on their insurance coverage and medical services received.

Risper’s comments offer a glimpse into the realities of navigating childbirth in the US, particularly for families dealing with hospital and medical expenses while also adjusting to life with a newborn.

Her US birth experience

The mother of two had earlier opened up about her experience after giving birth in the US, revealing why she wanted to extend her stay in hospital for as long as possible.

Speaking about her postpartum journey on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Risper said mothers who undergo a Caesarean section (C-section) can remain in hospital for several days depending on their insurance cover.

According to her, women can stay for three to four days after delivery, while those with comprehensive insurance may even choose to remain in hospital for a week or longer.

Ukifanya C Section: depending on your insurance, you can stay in the hospital for three to four days, or even a week if you want. If you have a good insurance, you can stay as long as you want,” Risper said.

Risper admitted that she was reluctant to return home because she knew she would have to take care of herself and the baby without house help.

So mimi nilikuwa nasema naenda kwa nyumba kusema fanya nini na hakuna maid kwa nyumba, kila siku walikuwa wanakuja kuniangalia najifanya niko mgonjwa sana siwezi amka ndio nikae kwa hospitali siku nyingi,” she added.
