Oga Obinna says past relationships taught him not to give women 100 per cent

He said he has given his all many times before, only for the relationships to backfire. Because of this, he now chooses to hold back even when he is willing to be with someone.
“They always say that experience is the best teacher. So now when you get any other person, you know better,” Oga Obinna said while speaking on his podcast on Monday, August 25, 2026.
Obinna explained that telling women he will not give them 100 per cent is usually not taken lightly. He said the statement often offends because the woman may feel that she is being judged based on the actions of someone from the past. However, he said his decision is based on what he has personally experienced in previous relationships.
“That statement you have said is usually not taken lightly by women because many times I find myself in the same situation based on my experience with women,” Oga Obinna said.
The media personality said he is still willing to be in a relationship despite his decision to hold something back. He explained that he tells women he will be with them, but makes it clear from the beginning that he will not give them everything. According to Obinna, this approach is a result of lessons from his previous relationships.
“So I always tell women I will be with you, but I will not give you 100 percent and they take offence,” Oga Obinna said.
Lessons from past relationships
Obinna explained that the main reason he does not give 100 per cent is that he has done so several times before. He said those experiences did not end well for him, making him more careful when entering another relationship. He said his past has shaped how much he is now willing to give.
“So why am I not giving you 100 per cent is because I have given 100 per cent many times and it has backfired,” Oga Obinna said.
He also addressed the response he often gets from women when he explains his position. Obinna said some women tell him that the person who hurt him in the past was not them. He explained that while he understands that point, his past experiences still affect how he approaches new relationships.
“Then wanakuambia but huyo hakuwa mimi then you tell them hata kama haikua wewe but…” Oga Obinna said.
