Oga Obinna saddened by Stoopid Boy’s death months after taking him to rehab

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, August 27, 2026, Obinna appeared visibly shaken as he walked while repeatedly calling out the late rapper’s name, struggling to come to terms with the news.
“Yoo man, Stoopid Boy, man. Wee,” he said.
The brief reaction captured the shock and disbelief that appeared to follow news of the rapper’s death, with Obinna looking visibly gutted as he reflected on the sudden turn of events.
Obinna’s intervention
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, January 5, 2025, the Obinna Live show host asked his followers to recommend facilities around Nairobi, saying he was determined to help the rapper get back on his feet.
“Any good and affordable rehabilitation centres around Nairobi for substance abuse? Comment below — I’ll visit them today so we can hook up a brother and get him back on his feet @kingpheezle,” Obinna posted.
The intervention followed Stoopid Boy’s appearance on Obinna’s show on Monday, January 2, 2025, where the rapper opened up about his battle with alcohol and his difficulties trying to stop drinking.
During the conversation, Stoopid Boy acknowledged that alcohol had become a problem for him and said he wanted to quit but was struggling to overcome the habit.
His admission came after a series of incidents that had brought his drinking habits into the public spotlight.
Stoopid Boy had previously faced criticism after videos emerged showing him intoxicated and causing a commotion at Quiver Lounge in Nairobi.
In one of the viral videos, the rapper was seen lecturing security officers at the entertainment joint after being pushed out, insisting that he was a prominent artiste and should have been allowed into the establishment for free.
The incident triggered widespread reactions from his fans, with some expressing concern over what they viewed as his escalating drinking problem.
The controversy came only weeks after another video circulated online showing Stoopid Boy attempting to pick a fight with another reveller at an undisclosed bar.
The incidents prompted deeper conversations about his lifestyle and eventually contributed to his decision to seek help.
Struggle with substance abuse
During his conversation with Obinna, the rapper also opened up about some of the personal difficulties he had experienced in his life.
According to Stoopid Boy, the relationship deteriorated after his finances suffered, with the woman eventually leaving him.
He became emotional while recalling how quickly she abandoned him after his financial situation changed.
“Huyo msichana ndiye anafanyanga nakasirika. Huyo madam wangu alinipendanga nikiwa na doh nikasota. Hiyo time hata sikuwa naimbanga. Aliniacha juu ya mihadarati nilikuwa natumia mihadarati mingi,” he said.
The rapper further revealed that his struggles extended beyond alcohol, saying he had previously become dependent on hard drugs.
He explained that he had developed a habit of taking various pills, which he said he obtained from a pharmacy, because he felt compelled to use them in order to calm himself.
“Madawa mingi hata si pombe. Lakini nilikujanga nikaziwacha. Nilikuwa nazitoanga kwa daktari. Nilikuwa nazimeza ndio nitulie tu,” he revealed.
