Obinna demands arrest after viral video shows minor in school uniform being given alcohol

A viral video showing a minor in school uniform being given alcohol has sparked concern online, with media personality Oga Obinna calling for police intervention and the arrest of those involved.
Obinna shared the video after he was tagged in it, expressing disbelief that three grown men could be involved in giving alcohol to minors while other young people watched.
Obinna calls for police action
Reacting to the footage, Obinna called on Kenyans to tag the police and urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to intervene.
“Kindly tag the police..!! I mean … three grown up dudes doing this…and 3 girls sitted watching,” he wrote on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
He questioned why people around the situation did not stop what was happening, instead of allowing themselves to become part of what he described as “mediocrity” and “stupidity.”
“At what point do people stop and talk and refuse to be part of mediocrity and stupidity,” Obinna added.
He concluded his message with a direct appeal to investigators, writing, “DCI fanyeni kazi sasa.”
Liz Jackson highlights alcohol laws
Activist Liz Jackson also reacted to the controversy, urging Kenyans to familiarise themselves with laws governing alcohol consumption and responsible marketing.
“Read the Kenya alcohol drinking act section 18 and Diageo’s Responsible Marketing code, literally takes a minute to google,” Jackson said.
Section 18 of Kenya’s Alcoholic Drinks Control Act prohibits a person from knowingly selling, supplying or providing an alcoholic drink to a person under the age of 18.
Tr. Cillah reacts to footage
The incident also drew a brief reaction from Tr. Cillah, who expressed her dismay over what was shown in the viral clip.
“Aaaki noo ,” she wrote in reaction to the video.
The reactions have shifted attention from the video’s viral nature to concerns about adults involving minors in alcohol-related activities and the responsibility of bystanders to intervene.
With Obinna calling on the DCI to act, the growing public concern has also raised questions about whether those involved could face legal consequences if investigations establish that alcohol was deliberately supplied to minors.
The video continues to attract attention online, with Kenyans questioning the circumstances surrounding the incident and calling for greater protection of children from exposure to alcohol.
