Boniface Mwangi’s wife celebrates activist in heartfelt Father’s Day message

Journalist and activist Hellen Njeri Mwangi, wife of human rights activist Boniface Mwangi, has shared a heartfelt message honouring Boniface for his dedication to family and country on Father’s Day.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Monday, June 22, 2025, Njeri praised her husband for his unwavering commitment, sacrifices and love, saying his efforts have played a significant role in shaping their family.
She also used the occasion to celebrate her own father and brothers, thanking them for the impact they have had on her life over the years.
Celebrating Boniface
In her message, Njeri described Boniface as a devoted father whose love and commitment never go unnoticed by those closest to him. She acknowledged the sacrifices he has made for both his family and the country, noting that his determination has remained constant through the years.
“Your love, your commitment, your sacrifices never go unnoticed. We are who we are because you never give up, not on us, not even on this country,” she wrote.
Njeri went on to express gratitude for his presence in their lives, adding that she always celebrates and thanks God for him. According to her, Boniface’s relationship with their children goes beyond that of a parent, describing him as both a father and a friend.
“Our children are the luckiest that they get to call you dad, but also friends,” she added.
A special message to her father
Beyond celebrating her husband, Njeri also dedicated part of her message to her father, reflecting on the memories she has shared with him. She described him as a cheerful presence whose laughter always filled every room and praised his careful and thoughtful approach to life.
“My daddy has always been the laughter that filled the room. Meticulous in how he did things,” she wrote.
Njeri also acknowledged the changing seasons of life, noting that her family now has an opportunity to care for him just as he once cared for them. “Now we get to take care of you like you did us when you were strong and able. Dad, I love you so much and I celebrate you,” she said.
Gratitude for family
The heartfelt tribute also extended to her brothers, Eric and Ben, whom she credited for teaching important life lessons through their resilience and courage. She thanked them for demonstrating how to face life’s challenges with strength regardless of circumstances.
“Happy Father’s Day to my Boniface Mwangi and to my daddy. And to my brothers Eric and Ben, who have taught us to face life courageously whatever it brings, I thank God for you every day,” she wrote.
