Natalie Githinji shares list of underrated artistes she believes deserve breakthrough
Media personality Natalie Githinji has highlighted a list of underrated Kenyan artistes she believes deserve more airplay, performance platforms and mainstream recognition.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, June 28, 2026, she said many talented artists are not getting enough support despite producing quality music across different genres.
“Artists I want to see perform… wasee wanoma hawa…. but tumelalishia mbaya!” she wrote.
Underrated talent list
Githinji shared a list of artistes she described as highly talented but underexposed in the mainstream music scene.
The list included Mastar VK, Moti The NRG, Frenno Di General, Salaton (Unspoken Salaton), Blvckie, Teslah, Rudra Kartel, Only Moh, Cosign Black, Papa Nyosto, Kapitani, Mauru Gwash, 4MrFrankWhite and Makamanda.

She noted that the selection reflected part of her personal playlist and hinted that many other artists could have been included.
“Also, this is just how my playlist looks… ni sijaweka sasa the rest… msiseme ni hard,” she added.
Music output
Several of the artistes mentioned have been steadily building audiences through underground releases and viral tracks.
Mastar VK is known for songs such as IPO SIKU featuring RPG Bazu and BALANCE, while Moti The NRG has gained recognition with 88 Bars 2, MOST PROBABLY and Hood Priest.

Frenno Di General continues to release dancehall-influenced tracks, while Salaton’s breakout record FRRMBANYA, featuring Breeder LW, has gained strong streaming traction.
Papa Nyosto’s Go Down has also gained popularity online, while Cosign Black has built a following with emotionally driven tracks such as Epiphany.
Kapitani has also recently gained attention with his viral single, adding to his growing presence in the underground scene.

Githinji’s message adds to ongoing conversations about the gap between Kenya’s growing music industry and the support given to emerging artists.
She called for more airplay and performance opportunities for underground talent, arguing that many musicians are being overlooked despite their potential.
“My point is… hawa wasanii wapewe airplay and platform za kuperform otherwise sijui tunapush nini tukisema K.E music to the world na hatujipendi ata hatu support watu wetu!” she wrote.
