Receive your flowers: Daddy Owen praises Redsan’s 30-year music journey

Gospel musician Daddy Owen has praised Redsan’s 30-year journey in the music industry, saying that staying relevant, creating music and inspiring generations for three decades is not an easy task.
He said he could personally attest to the challenges that come with a long music career. Daddy Owen shared the remarks as he looked forward to performing at the REDSAN 30 event this Saturday, August 29, 2026
“This music journey is not for the faint-hearted—I can personally attest to that,” Daddy Owen said on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Daddy Owen said Redsan’s 30 years in the music industry are a major achievement. He recalled seeing Redsan for the first time after he had completed Form Four, when the singer was already known as a superstar at the F2 Jam sessions on Sunday afternoons. He said he later watched Redsan’s journey continue through different stages of his career.

“To remain relevant, keep creating, and inspire generations for 30 years is a remarkable achievement,” Daddy Owen said.

Daddy Owen explained that he had followed Redsan’s career from his One-2-Moja days. He said he also watched as Redsan worked closely with Chameleone and Bebe Cool before becoming one of the most respected names in African music. He described the journey as one that deserves to be recognised and celebrated.
“30 years in the music industry is no mean feat!” Daddy Owen said.

Daddy Owen said the celebration would also give him a chance to honour Redsan’s work over the years. He confirmed that he would perform live at the REDSAN 30 event on Saturday as the celebrations mark the singer’s musical journey. He described Redsan as his big brother and congratulated him on the milestone.

The singer also reflected on what it takes to remain active in music for many years. He said continuing to create and remain relevant while inspiring different generations requires commitment. His comments placed focus on the long journey Redsan has made in the music industry.
