Content creator Nairobi Birdman has responded to growing health concerns after a viral video showed him eating alongside wild birds from the same plate.

The clip has stirred debate online, with sections of the public questioning the safety of sharing food and close space with scavenging birds. Many users expressed concern that such interactions could expose him to infections, particularly given the birds’ exposure to uncontrolled environments.

The conversation escalated further after medical doctor Dennis Miskellah, who serves as Secretary-General of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), called on health authorities to intervene.

In a post on X, Miskellah urged the Ministry of Health to assess the situation and advise the content creator, warning that close contact between humans and wild animals carries the risk of zoonotic diseases illnesses that can be transmitted from animals to humans.

Birdman responds

Responding to the concerns through his Facebook page on Thursday, June25,2026 Nairobi Birdman dismissed fears that his lifestyle could make him ill, insisting that his interactions with birds have not affected his health.

“People say I’ll get sick eating with birds,” he wrote.

He expanded on his experience, saying he has not only eaten with the birds at home but has also shared food with them in more challenging environments.

He pointed to dumping sites where scavenging birds feed on discarded food, saying he has been in such conditions and remained well.

For him, that experience reinforces his belief that there is no risk in his interaction with the birds.

He noted that if he has already handled such environments without falling ill, then sharing a plate with the birds at home should not raise concern.

“Yet I eat among them, even at dumping sites where they feed on thrown-away food, and we’re still doing fine,” he added.

The content creator, who has built a strong online following through videos showing his close bond with birds.

He also defended his philosophy on nature, saying concerns about his lifestyle are exaggerated.

“Nature wastes nothing,” he said.
