‘My love for entertaining started with her’ – Claudia Naisabwa gives Joyce Gituro her flowers
By Dan Kauna, July 6, 2026Kenyan media personality Claudia Naisabwa has expressed immense gratitude to veteran radio presenter Joyce Gituro for honouring the leadership of her mother, Samburu politician Maison Leshoomo.
Claudia shared her reaction on July 6, 2026, after watching a viral TikTok video where Gituro spoke highly of Leshoomo’s impactful work. The clip, recorded during an outdoor interview, deeply moved the young TV host.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Claudia admitted that seeing her mother’s work still recognised brought her great joy.

“Hearing Joyce speak so beautifully about my mother, Mama Maison Leshoomo, reminded me why I carry Samburu with so much pride,” Claudia wrote. She added that she would never take for granted the fact that people still talk about her mother’s courage, service, and leadership today.
A pioneer’s lasting impact
As per Claudia, Maison Leshoomo made history as the first woman from the Samburu community to be elected into leadership. According to Claudia, her mother did more than just break barriers; she also “changed what was possible for generations of women who came after her.”
Through public service, she taught her community the value of culture and showing up for others.

Beyond politics, Claudia revealed that her mother laid the foundation for her own media and hosting career. She noted that her “love for entertaining started with her” long before she fully understood the industry. Claudia recalled how her mother showed her the joy of bringing people together, sharing stories, and putting smiles on people’s faces.
In her post, Claudia tagged Gituro’s son, Homeboyz Radio presenter Jakes Nyanjom, asking him to help set up a lunch plan. “Thank you @joycegituro for reminding us that a life lived in service leaves a legacy that never fades,” she noted.
