MrBeast gifts Kenyan creator Duty Boy Stylish iPhone 17 Pro Max days after he survived an attack

Kenyan content creator Geoffrey Mwamburi, popularly known as Duty Boy Stylish, has received a new iPhone 17 Pro Max from YouTuber MrBeast days after he was attacked and had his phone stolen.
The surprise gift came after Duty Boy shared his experience of growing up in Kibera and his dream of improving his mother’s life through content creation.
MrBeast steps in after phone theft
The gift was shared on Instagram by Samuel Weidenhofer, a content creator who has collaborated with MrBeast on online content and charitable projects. In a post shared on Saturday, September 19, 2026, Weidenhofer explained why they decided to replace Duty Boy’s stolen phone.
“His phone was stolen, but MrBeast and I weren’t going to let that stop his dream. He’s from the slums, and his biggest goal is to get his mum out! So MrBeast and I got him a new iPhone,” he wrote.
Duty Boy is known for creating lifestyle and real-life storytelling content from Kibera, often mixing his videos with acts of kindness and efforts to help people in need. His content has also attracted attention for showing everyday life in the informal settlement while highlighting people and stories from the community.
Duty Boy opens up about his dream
During a conversation before receiving the phone, Duty Boy spoke about his background and how his upbringing in Kibera shaped his view of life. The content creator said he started creating content in 2025 and grew up in Kibera, where he had become accustomed to the challenges of life in the informal settlement.
He also spoke about living with his mother and grandfather and explained that his biggest goal was to improve their lives. “One thing I know is that I want to get out of the slums; I want to get out of the hood. I want to build my mum a house,” he said.
Duty Boy also explained that his motivation goes beyond his own success, saying his family remains an important part of his dreams.
Creator recounts attack
The Kenyan creator also revealed that he had lost his phone after an attack while filming a challenge. He said he had been using an iPhone 15 while working on a challenge that involved surviving on one Kenyan shilling.
According to Duty Boy, he and his camera operator went to the wrong street while filming and were attacked. Their belongings were taken during the incident, and both sought medical treatment afterwards.
“I had my own iPhone. I was doing a challenge, surviving on one Kenyan shilling challenge, and I went to the wrong street to do the challenge. So we got attacked, and they took all our stuff,” he explained.
He said the attack left him with an injury, while his friend was also hurt, which led to them being hospitalised.
First brand-new phone
Before receiving the gift, Duty Boy said he had been using an iPhone 11 and was hoping to eventually get another phone as he continued working. MrBeast then surprised him with a brand-new iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The moment was emotional for the creator, who revealed that he had never owned a completely new phone before. “You know I’ve never had a brand-new phone before,” Duty Boy said as he opened the device.
The gift comes as Duty Boy continues building his presence as a Kenyan creator, using his experiences in Kibera and his interest in helping others as part of his content.
