Mosiria tells Nairobians he will serve them from Germany as he begins week-long Munich trip
By Steve Ireri, September 16, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer for Customer Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has told Nairobians that he will continue serving them remotely from Germany as he begins a week-long trip away from the capital.
In a video shared on his social media platforms on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Mosiria announced that he would be away for the better part of the week, assuring Nairobians that he would remain available to attend to their concerns despite being thousands of kilometres away.
The Nairobi official playfully informed his followers that he was leaving the country but would continue carrying out his duties remotely, describing his arrangement as operating on ‘autopilot’.
“Bye, I will be back next week. This whole week I will not be around. This week, between today and the 24th next week, all Kenyans in Nairobi, I am gone,” Mosiria said.
Despite announcing his physical absence from Nairobi, the Chief Officer maintained that residents would still be able to reach him should they encounter problems requiring his attention.
“If you have problems, I will keep serving remotely. I call it autopilot,” he said.
Mosiria further revealed that he would be carrying out his virtual engagement with Nairobians from Munich, Germany, as he takes time away from the city.
“I will be serving you from Munich, Germany,” he said.
The official then turned his attention to the flight he was about to board, drawing attention to the aircraft’s powerful engine before preparing to enter the plane.
“You see this plane I am getting into has a huge engine. Let me board,” Mosiria said.
His departure then took an unexpected and amusing turn when he appeared to recognise one of the members of the flight crew.
“Wow, you mean you know me, and you are a hostess here,” Mosiria said.
Lost in Germany
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Mosiria said he became disoriented in an underpass while attempting to navigate the trains and metro system.
“Majamaa, I got completely lost in the underpass while trying to navigate the trains and metro to get to my hotel. In Germany, you really need to know the places, and the communication can be challenging,” Mosiria stated.
With the unfamiliar underground passages proving difficult to navigate, the Nairobi official turned to social media and went live in an attempt to seek assistance.
His livestream was seen by a young man named Owen, who lived in the area and was able to trace Mosiria’s location before going to find him.
Owen subsequently accompanied Mosiria to his hotel, providing an unexpected helping hand after the official found himself struggling to navigate the unfamiliar surroundings.
“I went live, and a young man named Owen, who lives nearby, saw the situation, traced where we were, and came to our rescue. He personally took us to the hotel where I’ll be staying during my time here in Germany,” Mosiria narrated.
The experience left Mosiria reflecting on the usefulness of social media beyond entertainment, particularly its ability to connect people who might otherwise have no way of finding each other in unfamiliar surroundings.
“The power of social media should never be undermined. It can do more than entertain it can connect people, protect lives, and even save lives. ❤️🙏” he said.
