Mosiria left astounded after encountering street woman claiming to be an evil jinni from the ocean
By Steve Ireri, September 13, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer for Customer Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has shared a bizarre encounter with a street woman who claimed that she had been turned into a jinni and had been living in water before asking for help to leave the area.
In a video shared by Mosiria on TikTok on Saturday, September 12, 2026, the woman made a series of extraordinary claims about her identity and circumstances as she interacted with the Nairobi County official.
Mosiria appeared puzzled by the woman’s actions, particularly after she poured soda on herself despite having been given the drink, before indicating that he wanted to take her towards the airport side.
“Why is she pouring the soda on herself when we gave her? And I want to take her to the airport side,” Mosiria said.
The woman, who identified herself as Miriam Awuor, then claimed that she had been transformed into a jinni by some people and had been lying on the ground because she had been resting in a small mass of water.
“Ruto wants to sell Kenya. And the reason why I was lying here on the ground is that some people turned me into a jinni. And that is why I was resting in this small mass of water,” the woman said.
She went on to ask Mosiria to contact a woman named Winnie, whom she wanted to come and take her away.
“But call Winnie so she can come and take me. I am Miriam Awuor,” she said.
The woman then made another unusual claim, saying that she was connected to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, although she clarified that she was not his biological child.
“And I am Raila Odinga’s miracle baby, not his biological son,” she said.
She further claimed that she lived in water but insisted that she did not want to return there, appearing to seek help from those around her as she described the circumstances surrounding her situation.
“And I stay in water. But I do not want to go back to the water,” the woman said.
The extraordinary claims appeared to leave the situation highly unusual, but Mosiria continued to engage with the woman and appeared concerned about her condition.
At one point, Mosiria said he had heard some people around them suggesting that the woman was pretending, but he immediately cautioned them against making such assumptions.
Mosiria instead urged those present to show compassion, insisting that the woman was genuinely unwell and warning that anyone could one day find themselves in a similar situation.
“And I hear some people here saying that she is pretending. Please do not say that. She is genuinely sick and you cannot say that. Do not say that because it could be you in this kind of problem one day,” Mosiria said.
