Mkamburi Chigogo: Women despise men who talk a lot
By Paulette Mboga, September 11, 2026Radio host Mkamburi Chigogo has shared her thoughts on men who talk too much, saying women can leave such men for someone more reserved.
Mkamburi, who is known for openly speaking her mind on relationships and other issues, said a man’s behaviour while in a private setting can affect how a woman views him. She explained that women may not want to be with a man who talks more than they do.
“Women despise men who talk a lot. Ukiwa kwa room, you are talking more than me? Utawachwa na mtu ataendea sponsor ambaye ametulia,” Mkamburi Chigogo said.
Her remarks come days after she spoke strongly about dowry and what she would do if she ended up paying her own. Mkamburi said she would make the matter public during a family meeting attended by her uncles and other relatives.

“Mimi nikijilipia mahari, kwenye kikao nitatangaza!” Mkamburi Chigogo said on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Speaking openly about relationships
Mkamburi explained that she would not keep quiet if she found herself paying her own dowry. She said she would stand during the family meeting and make it clear that she was the person who had provided the money.
“Let me assure you, mimi nikawai lipa mahari, wallahi katika kile kikao, uncles zangu, kina nani wako hapo, nitasimama, nitasema tu nataka tu nitangaze na niweke wazi kwamba mna deni langu,” Mkamburi Chigogo said.

She also said she expected the man marrying her to make an effort during the dowry process. Mkamburi explained that while she could provide the money if necessary, she wanted her contribution to be known by both families.
“Kwenye hii familia wanaume, mimi ndio nimejilipia mahari and I expect this man here that is marrying me, kuchangamka,” Mkamburi Chigogo said.
The radio host has continued to openly share her views on relationships and the expectations she has when it comes to marriage. Her latest remarks focused on the kind of behaviour she believes can affect a relationship, particularly when a man talks more than his partner.
She has already made her position clear on dowry and said she would ensure her family knew if she was the one who paid it.
