MC Muthee Ndegenye heartbroken after man he had been helping battle cancer dies

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Ndegenye announced that Francis had died after months of receiving support from him and his online followers, revealing that the deceased had endured significant pain and medical challenges before his death.
Ndegenye said Francis had been battling cancer and that his condition had deteriorated significantly, leaving him in considerable pain during his final days.
“Cancer has claimed the life of Francis. He was in great pain. Masindano kila siku, kuna vitu mingi zilikuwa zinahappen behind the scene, and I wouldn’t post. Pesa imetumika mingi. But all in all, we thank God and give Him all the glory,” he wrote.
The comedian reflected on the journey he and his online community had shared with Francis, saying they had supported him since January and remained committed to helping him throughout his illness.
Ndegenye said the support would now shift from medical treatment to giving Francis a dignified farewell, asking his followers to help the family meet the costs associated with his burial.
“Hatutawai changia Francis tena. He went to be with the Lord. Saa hii ako safe,” he wrote.
The comedian then appealed to his fans to help the family organise a befitting send-off, noting that Francis’s relatives did not have sufficient financial means to meet the burial expenses.
“Dear fans, allow me to request that we give him a befitting send-off. Familia hawana ule uwezo mwingi. Vile tulichukua Francis since January na hatujawai choka na yeye, let’s please finish this race together,” he said.
According to Ndegenye, the fundraising effort will cater for several expenses required for Francis’s burial, including a coffin, clothing, hearse and food for mourners.

Ndegenye also shared what he described as the last video he recorded with Francis, revealing that the deceased was experiencing severe pain but continued to draw strength from the support he received from the online community.
“This was the last video I recorded. He was in pain and agony. Lakini alikuwa ananiambia, ‘Kama watu wako wa Facebook hawajachoka na mimi, sitagive up,’” he recalled.
The comedian said the support Francis received from his online followers had played an important role in helping him remain hopeful during his battle with cancer.

He further announced that a committee had already been formed to oversee the burial arrangements, adding that the family was proposing Friday as the burial date.

Ndengenye also reflected on the financial burden that came with Francis’s prolonged illness, revealing that significant amounts of money had been spent on his treatment and that there were several developments behind the scenes that he had chosen not to share publicly.
He said Francis underwent frequent injections and experienced numerous challenges during his illness, but expressed gratitude to God despite the outcome.
