Maureen Waititu opens up about juggling different parenting roles
By Paulette Mboga, June 3, 2026Digital creator Maureen Waititu has opened up about the realities of parenting, saying there are times when a parent has to take on many responsibilities alone.
The content creator shared a message reflecting on motherhood and the different roles parents play in raising children. She said the experience often requires strength, sacrifice and commitment every day.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child, but sometimes the village is just you wearing different hats,” Maureen Waititu said on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
She explained that parenting often goes beyond a single responsibility. According to Waititu, many parents find themselves handling different duties while still trying to provide love and guidance to their children. She said this can require constant effort and dedication.

“A mother, a chef, a nurse, a chauffeur, a teacher, a protector, an executive, and somehow still finding the strength to dream, lead, and love,” Maureen Waititu said.
Waititu noted that motherhood involves balancing different roles while helping children grow and learn. She explained that parents often become role models without even realising it. According to her, children are always watching and learning from the people raising them.
“This little ‘Mini Me’ world captures what motherhood feels like—being many women in one while raising little humans who are watching, learning, and growing through it all,” Maureen Waititu said.
Recognising parents’ efforts
She also used her message to recognise parents whose work often goes unnoticed. Waititu explained that raising children involves many sacrifices that are not always visible to others. She said those efforts still make a difference in the lives of children.

“To every parent doing a hundred jobs no one sees, your work matters, your sacrifices matter, and the love you pour into your children every day never goes unnoticed,” Maureen Waititu said.
According to Waititu, parenting is one of the most important responsibilities a person can have. She suggested that while careers and professional achievements are valuable, family remains a major part of life. Her message focused on the importance of nurturing and supporting children.
She explained that parents continue showing up for their children even when the work is demanding. Through different roles and responsibilities, they help shape the future of their families. Waititu said that commitment deserves recognition.
“My greatest title will never be found on a business card. It will always be ‘Mom,’” Maureen Waititu said.
