Lydia Wanjiru explains why she chooses to live loudly and unapologetically

By , August 11, 2026

Lydia Wanjiru has opened up about why she chooses to live, love and express herself without holding back.

She said losing someone who meant everything to her changed how she looks at life. Lydia explained that the loss has made her determined to be fully herself while she is still here.

“I keep telling people that I live, love loudly and unapologetically because, honestly, I have nothing left to prove,” Lydia Wanjiru said on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Lydia explained that the person she could always turn to when life became difficult is no longer around. She said the loss has left a space in her life that cannot be filled. She also described the person as someone who should have taught her what unconditional love feels like.

“The one person I could take a bullet for is gone. The one person I could run to when life became too chaotic is no longer here. The one person who should have taught me what unconditional love feels like isn’t here,” Lydia Wanjiru said.

Choosing to be completely herself

Lydia said the loss helps explain why she does not want to hide parts of herself. She explained that people may see her as loud, raw, unfiltered and unapologetic, but she does not want to create a different version of herself for the world. She said she has chosen to show up as herself without putting on a mask.

“So when the world sees me as loud, raw, unfiltered, unbothered, unapologetic and completely myself, this is why,” Lydia Wanjiru said.

Lydia said she is not interested in creating a carefully planned image of herself. She explained that she does not want to perform for others or present a version of herself that is different from who she really is. She said she wants to experience life honestly and without pretending.

“There’s no mask. No performance. No carefully curated version of me,” Lydia Wanjiru said.

Lydia said she wants to make the most of the time she has by loving deeply and expressing herself freely. She explained that she wants to feel everything and live fully instead of holding back because of what others may think. Her decision, she said, comes from knowing what it feels like to lose someone who made life feel like home.

Lydia added that the person she lost had been deeply important to her and that the loss continues to shape how she chooses to live. She said she will continue being herself and embracing life without apologies.
