Luo singer Papa T shares health update after collapsing on music video set
By William Muthama, September 26, 2026Luo singer Papa T has shared an update on his health after collapsing while shooting the music video for his latest song, Nyachula, in Kisumu.
In an update shared with his fans on Saturday, September 26, 2026, the musician revealed that he fell ill on Friday, September 25, 2026, forcing the production team to halt filming as he was rushed to hospital.
The Verah hitmaker said he had since been discharged and was resting at his Mlimani residence in Kisumu under private medical supervision.
Papa T explains sudden collapse
Papa T said he was diagnosed with extreme ulcers, stress and anxiety following the incident.
“Unfortunately, yesterday while shooting the video, I collapsed on set and was rushed to hospital. This stopped the shooting immediately. I was diagnosed with extreme ulcers, stress and anxiety, but I’m now stable and resting at my place under private check-up,” he said.
The singer thanked his fans for their prayers and messages of support as he continued recovering.
Papa T also assured his followers that the health scare would not stop the release of his new song.
Papa T asks fans for prayers
The singer said Nyachula, which was scheduled for release on Sunday, September 27, at 5:00 pm, would still be released as planned.
However, he noted that the incident could cause a slight delay in the music video as he continues to recover.
“We might drop Audio first at 5:00 pm as we finalise the video, then video will follow immediately,” Papa T said.
He also said he hoped to complete the remaining scenes for the video as he continued recovering.
The Luo singer thanked his fans for standing by him following the health scare and urged them to continue supporting the project.
“Thank you for your prayers and love; I feel your support. Let’s make NYACHULA big tomorrow!” he wrote.
