Liz Jackson defends Eve Mungai amid online backlash
By Valerian Khakayi, July 10, 2026Digital content creator Liz Jackson has come to the defence of her friend Eve Mungai following growing online criticism over her career and business ventures.
In a video shared on her official Instagram account, Liz dismissed claims circulating on social media that Mungai Eve’s career had declined, saying many people had wrongly assumed she was no longer successful simply because she is no longer seen conducting interviews.
“I have been seeing online, ooh, Mungai Eve alienda wapi? Mungai Eve aliisha; ooh, she now sells phones; ooh, nikama aliwacha kazi hainterview watu; she used to interview big people,” Liz said.
According to Liz, such comments fail to recognise that content creators can evolve and diversify their sources of income.
“Just because we are no longer loitering around with a microphone asking people for interviews doesn’t mean she is not bringing money to the table or not doing well in life,” she added.

Liz on Eve’s new ventures
Liz, who described Eve as her friend, revealed that the influencer is doing even better financially than before despite keeping a lower public profile.
“She is my friend, and I can guarantee you she is making more money than years ago. She has businesses, and it is not for her to come and announce that shop is not the only business she has; she has so many,” Liz stated.
She further urged Kenyans to stop judging public figures based on what they choose to share online, noting that many creators are expanding beyond content creation into entrepreneurship and other investments.
“You need to allow content creators and people in the public space to grow and evolve,” she urged.

Eve to critics
While thanking Liz for speaking out, Eve said that it was unrealistic to expect someone to remain the same person they were six years ago at the age of 20.
“Thanks for saying it out loud, my love. It’s crazy to expect someone to be the same person they were 6 years ago when they were just 20 yrs old!!!” she said.
Genesis of the criticism
Eve has been facing online criticism after attempting to pitch her new smartphone business venture during a public event, where she asked Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, to help promote the brand.
While urging the public to support her business, Jalang’o also encouraged Eve to return to content creation, saying that was the version of her many people had come to know.
His remarks sparked debate on social media, with some users questioning her shift from interviewing public figures to focusing on entrepreneurship.
