Life has humbled me: Azziad Nasenya opens up on gratitude and growth

Media personality Azziad Nasenya has shared a deeply personal reflection as she marks another year of life, opening up about gratitude, growth, and the lessons she has learned along the way.

In her message shared on Monday, June 22, 2026, she revealed that this year felt different for her, choosing to embrace gratitude rather than focus on desires or expectations.

“This year, I didn’t ask for more,” Azziad wrote.

She further noted how life has shaped her through both challenges and blessings, saying she has been stretched and humbled by her experiences.

“Life has stretched me, humbled me, surprised me, and blessed me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Yet here I am still standing, still smiling, still believing,” she added.

Reflecting on life

The media personality further added that she took time to reflect on what she already has and the journey so far, expressing appreciation for the people who have stood by her and the experiences that have shaped her.

“I paused long enough to thank God for what stayed. For the people who loved me well. For the dreams that outgrew my fears. For the doors that opened, and the ones that closed for my own good,” Azziad stated.

Life lessons

Azziad, who has grown into one of the country’s most recognised digital creators and media personalities, described her 26 years as a mix of joy, chaos, lessons, grace, and personal becoming.

“Twenty-six years of joy, chaos, lessons, grace, and becoming,” she added.

Journey to fame

Azziad rose to fame in 2020 after a short TikTok dance video she posted went viral during the early days of the platform’s rise in Kenya. The clip quickly spread across social media, turning her into an overnight sensation and sparking widespread attention both online and in mainstream media.

What started as a simple dance challenge soon opened major doors for her, landing brand deals, media opportunities, and collaborations that firmly established her as one of the faces of Kenya’s fast-growing influencer culture. Over time, she transitioned from viral fame into a media personality and actress, building a career beyond the initial social media buzz.

Despite the fame and public attention, Azziad says this year has pushed her to reflect more deeply on life, gratitude, and the journey she has walked since those early viral moments.
