Khalwale celebrates son for graduating as a certified full-stack software engineer

In a congratulatory message shared on X on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Khalwale listed the institutions his son attended throughout his education, from primary school to his professional training, before celebrating his latest achievement.
“Thank God the long journey from Malinya Primary School to Alliance High School to Kirinyaga University to Moringa Institute is finally over. Engine Kukaste Khalwale graduates today as a certified full-stack software engineer. Congratulations son!” he wrote.
Khalwale’s message marked the culmination of his son’s education journey, which began at Malinya Primary School before he proceeded to Alliance High School.
He later joined Kirinyaga University and eventually enrolled at Moringa Institute, where he completed his training in full-stack software engineering.
The senator appeared proud of the milestone as he celebrated his son’s transition into the technology field, describing the completion of the journey as a significant achievement.
Full-stack software engineering involves developing both the front-end and back-end components of software applications, requiring professionals to work across areas such as user interfaces, programming, databases and server-side systems.
Who is Boni Khalwale?
Khalwale is a prominent Kenyan politician and medical doctor who currently serves as the Senator for Kakamega County.
He first became a Member of Parliament for Ikolomani Constituency in 2002 and held the position until 2013, when he transitioned to the Senate after being elected as Kakamega County’s first senator.
He served as Kakamega Senator between 2013 and 2017 before returning to the Senate after winning the seat again in the 2022 General Election.
Outside politics, Khalwale is a qualified medical doctor and is also popularly known as “The Bullfighter”, a nickname linked to his well-known passion for the traditional Luhya cultural sport of bullfighting.
The senator has also maintained a visible presence on social media, where he frequently shares updates about his family and celebrates the achievements of his children.

Khalwale has publicly confirmed that he has 17 children with his four wives, making his family one of the aspects of his personal life that has attracted public interest over the years.
His second wife, Josephine Umina Khalwale, is the mother of three children, while his third wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has eight children with him.
His fourth wife, Diana Moragwa Khalwale, is the mother of three children.
The senator has previously made his children’s academic achievements a subject of public celebration, often sharing their examination results and other milestones with his followers.
