Inside Bishop JB Masinde’s special gift to Kathy Kiuna’s son Jeremy after tying the knot

Jubilee Christian Church [JCC] founder Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna was among family members and close friends who witnessed a beautiful white wedding ceremony as her son Jeremy Kiuna exchanged vows with his long-time lover Stephanie Ngunjiri on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The elegant ceremony brought together family, friends, and several prominent church leaders who gathered to celebrate the couple’s union in a day marked by worship, prayers, and heartfelt messages about marriage.

One of the standout moments of the wedding came when renowned preacher JB Masinde presented the newlyweds with a special gift and shared a powerful message on the realities of married life.

Bible before gifts

Speaking during the ceremony, Masinde urged the couple to prioritise God’s word as they begin their journey together, revealing that he had chosen to gift them a Bible instead of focusing on material presents.

According to the preacher, the Bible remains the most important guide for any couple seeking to build a lasting marriage.

“I want to give you this Bible because it is the right manual for marriage. Don’t get your information from social media. This is what kept your father and mother going. This is what has kept us going as well,” he said.

Masinde cautioned the newlyweds against relying on social media for marital advice, saying the scriptures had guided generations of successful marriages, including those of their parents and church leaders.

He described the Bible as a manual that provides direction during both good and difficult seasons of marriage.

“So, before you receive our gifts such as cups, microwaves, and holiday vouchers, I beg you to first receive this Bible. It is a manual,” he added.

Marriage is like sugarcane

The preacher also used a vivid illustration to explain the nature of marriage.

Masinde compared marriage to a sugarcane, noting that while there are sweet and enjoyable moments, there are also difficult periods that every couple must navigate.

He encouraged Jeremy and Stephanie to remain committed during challenging times, reminding them that hardships are a normal part of every marriage journey.

“Marriage is like a sugarcane. It has a part that is soft and very sweet. But before every soft part, there is a hard joint. That is how marriage is, and every marriage has its hard moments too,” JB Masinde said.

The wedding also attracted a host of prominent church leaders, including Faith Evangelistic Ministry founder Teresiah Wairimu, who led guests in a heartfelt prayer for the couple.

Others in attendance included Exploits Worship Centre founder Julius Suubi, Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor Esther Obasi-Eke, and Grace Arena Ministries founder prophet David Owusu, among several other respected ministers.
