Hakunipiga na doom: Mbusii denies claims Mwafreeka sprayed him over body odour
By Valerian Khakayi, July 13, 2026Reggae radio presenter Daniel Mwangi, famously known as Mbusii Deh, has dismissed long-standing claims that former Ghetto Radio boss and podcaster Makarios Onyango Ouma, alias Mwafreeka, once sprayed him with Doom insecticide because he smelt of sweat.
Speaking during a candid conversation on the Iko Nini podcast, the pair addressed the viral rumour, where Mwafreeka questioned Mbusii about the claims that have circulated for years.
“Nilikutandikanga doom ama? Hiyo story nimeiskia mbaka nashindwa,” Mwafreeka said.
Responding to the claims, Mbusii laughed, insisting that Mwafreeka never sprayed him with Doom.
“Hakuna mahali ati Mwaf alinipiga na doom mimi, but kuna ile mbogi tulikuwa tunafanya nayo mapresenter,” Mbusii responded.
The radio personality explained that while Doom was occasionally sprayed inside the studio, it was never directed at him.
“Ata ukisikiliza vile mimi husema, si ati nilipigwa doom. Kulikuwa kunapigwa doom kwa studio nikitoka,” he added.

Mbusii on beef with Mwafreeka
The conversation also touched on reports that the two had fallen out over the years. However, Mbusi dismissed the speculation, saying there was no bad blood between them.
“Watu wengi wamekuwa wakisema Mwaf na Mbusii wako na beef, beef gani? Ndio sisi hapa tumekaa,” Mbusii stated.
He further noted that people often create stories that do not reflect reality.
“Unajua watu hii Kenya, mbongi ndio huwa inajua mtu kuliko vile mtu anajijua,” he noted.
Mbusi and Mwafreeka worked together at Ghetto Radio, where Mwafreeka was Mbusi’s boss.

Doom spray claims
The long-running claims that Mwafreeka once sprayed Mbusi with Doom resurfaced after the media personality’s public fallout with X influencer Polo Kimani.
The controversy began when Polo accused Mwafreeka of treating him poorly during an interview. Responding to the criticism, Mwafreeka claimed Polo had shown up smelling of sweat and stressed the importance of good personal hygiene.
“Go take a shower and use some deodorant. I sat here for over 1.5 hours smelling your armpits, and the least you can do is complain about me. Kaoge wacha mchezo,” Mwafreeka said.
As the exchange gained traction online, social media users revived old claims that Mwafreeka had once sprayed former Ghetto Radio colleague Mbusii with Doom over a similar body odour incident.
However, Mbusii has dismissed the rumours, insisting Mwafreeka never sprayed him with Doom and clarifying that although Doom was occasionally sprayed in the studio, it was never directed at him.
