Gen Z Baddie explains why Sifuna stands out from other politicians

Gen Z Baddie has explained why she believes Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna stands out from other politicians, saying he has continued to stand with the people.
On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, she said one of the things she has already learnt from politics is that it takes a different kind of politician to speak about uncomfortable truths. According to her, such truths may not always be music to the ears of those in power.
“I haven’t been in politics for long, but one thing I’ve already learnt is that it takes a different kind of politician to say uncomfortable truths, even when those truths may not be music to the ears of those in power,” Gen Z Baddie said.
She explained that some politicians change their approach after getting close to their bosses. She said they can become more focused on agreeing with those around them instead of speaking openly about issues.
For her, Sifuna has shown a different approach through his actions and the positions he has taken.
“Too many politicians become people-pleasers once they get close to their bosses. They agree, they applaud, they follow,” Gen Z Baddie said.
Standing with the people
Gen Z Baddie said she believes Sifuna’s loyalty has remained with the people and the cause rather than one individual.
“But Sifuna has repeatedly shown that his loyalty is not to an individual; it is to the people and to the cause,” Gen Z Baddie said.
She explained that, in her view, signing an agreement does not mean a politician has to give up their voice or stop standing for what they believe in. Her comments focused on the qualities she believes make him different from other politicians.
“Even when it was Raila Odinga, his position remained clear: Ruto must go,” Gen Z Baddie said.
Gen Z Baddie said Sifuna’s approach represents the kind of politics she believes in. She explained that she values courage, principles and putting people first. She said these qualities matter more to her than making decisions based on convenience or positions.
“And today, as he explains the MOU, he is making it clear that signing an agreement does not mean surrendering his voice or abandoning the people,” Gen Z Baddie said.
She concluded by describing the kind of politics she supports, placing people ahead of power and principles ahead of positions. Gen Z Baddie said she believes this is the approach that sets Sifuna apart from other politicians.
