Esther Musila dismisses claims her gym routine is all about keeping Guardian Angel happy

Businesswoman and fitness enthusiast Esther Musila has responded to people who have long suggested that her commitment to fitness is driven by her marriage to gospel singer Guardian Angel.

In a strongly worded Facebook post on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Musila dismissed the claims, insisting that exercising has been part of her lifestyle for many years and has nothing to do with trying to impress or keep up with her husband.

According to Musila, some people continue to assume that she spends time in the gym because she is married to a younger man, something she says is far from the truth.

“To those busybodies who think I work out to impress or keep up with the man I am married to, poleni sana!” she wrote.

She explained that her passion for fitness began long before the COVID-19 pandemic and long before the assumptions currently being made online.

Musila even shared a throwback photo taken before the pandemic to demonstrate that staying fit has always been part of who she is.

According to her, she has no regrets about the years she has dedicated to taking care of her body and remains grateful for the consistency she has maintained over time.

“Fitness has been my lifestyle for years, and I am now thanking myself for the hard work I have put in and my body for never failing me after so many years of consistency,” she said.

Looking back at the COVID-19 period, Musila recalled how the closure of gyms during lockdown could not stop her from exercising.

She revealed that because she considers herself a fitness addict, she and other fitness lovers quickly adapted by attending online workout sessions from home to ensure they remained active despite restrictions.

“This was me before COVID struck in 2020 and because of the lockdown, there were no gyms open. Because some of us are fitness addicts, we improvised and had online classes to still maintain our fitness,” she explained.

Musila also candidly addressed changes in her body over the years, admitting that she has gained some weight.

However, she maintained that the extra pounds are not something she is ashamed of.

According to her, part of the weight gain is a result of what she described as “TLC” while hormonal changes that naturally occur as women grow older have also contributed.

“The pounds we have gained are a result of TLC, and for us women, when you get to a certain age, your hormones are all over the place,” she said.

Despite those changes, Musila insisted that self-love should always remain the biggest motivation for exercising rather than trying to meet other people’s expectations.

She argued that when people invest in themselves, the rewards belong entirely to them.

“When you love yourself and do things for you, the best part of it is that the gains are yours,” she wrote.

The entrepreneur further stated that genuine fitness enthusiasts do not spend time complaining when they are unhappy with their bodies.

Instead, she believes they simply take action and work towards achieving the results they want.

“For us fitness enthusiasts, when your body is not at how you like it, you don’t whine about it, but get into action,” she said.

Musila added that there is no greater feeling than being comfortable and confident in one’s own body.

“There’s nothing more refreshing than feeling good about yourself. Nothing,” she stated.

She then encouraged people to stop making excuses for not exercising, noting that expensive gym memberships are not the only way to stay fit.

According to her, countless free exercise routines are readily available online for anyone willing to commit.

So kama huna pesa ya kwenda gym ama tu kufollow simple exercise routines ambazo ni free kwa mitandao, hiyo ni shauri yako, hujipendi. Tutazeeka tu kwa miaka. Body will always be tea. Clock it!” she wrote.
