By Valerian Khakayi, June 30, 2026Gospel rapper Eko Dydda has come to the defence of controversial digital content creator Andrew Kibe, urging Kenyans to respond with compassion instead of criticism following the backlash over Kibe’s remarks about musician Stevo Simple Boy.
In a message shared on his official Instagram account on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Eko Dydda said Kibe may be going through personal challenges that the public is unaware of, adding that he deserves love and support rather than constant attacks.
“Andrew Kibe needs more love right now more than ever,” Eko Dydda said.
He noted that many people are currently criticising Kibe but appealed to them to take it easy on him.
“Everyone right now is fighting Kibe; let’s go easy on Andrew Kibe. He needs more love; you never know what is happening in his life,” he added.

“He is very smart; let us support him and show him love rather than attacking him,” Eko Dydda stated.

Eko Dydda also praised Stevo Simple Boy for how he handled the situation, saying the singer responded with maturity despite the criticism directed at him.
“Pole, bestie, simple boy, you handle the situation with wisdom, peace and love. You are a good person,” he said.
Eko Dydda’s remarks come after Andrew Kibe sparked widespread reactions online over comments he made about Stevo Simple Boy, prompting many Kenyans to defend the singer while calling out Kibe over his remarks.

Why is Kibe facing backlash?
The former radio presenter’s new rules come amid growing backlash over comments he made about Stevo Simple Boy during his appearance on Dr Ofweneke’s podcast.
Kibe, during an episode of the Lessons at 30 podcast, said people like Stevo Simple Boy should not be allowed to have children, sparking widespread criticism online.
Taking to social media on Monday, June 29, 2026, Kibe said future podcast invitations would come with two non-negotiable conditions.
He stated that future podcast invitations would only be accepted if hosts paid him and refrained from censoring his remarks.
“From now on, if you invite me to your podcast, pay; don’t bleep [censor] my sh*t. Anything else is of the evil one,” Kibe wrote.
