DJ Xclusive wed longtime partner Sharlet Mshai in traditional ceremony

The ceremony, held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, marked a new chapter for the radio presenter and DJ, who proposed to Mshai earlier in 2026.
Mwalimu Rachel, who was among those invited to witness the celebration, shared moments from the wedding on Instagram, congratulating the newlyweds and joking that her days of being a third wheel around the couple were finally over.
She described the occasion as a celebration of love between her co-host and what she called her “big brother from another mother”.
“It’s a beautiful day to celebrate love between my co-host and big brother from another mother, DJ Xclusive, and Mshai. May God bless your union, my people! You both looked so good, and I’m honoured to have been invited to witness this,” she wrote.
‘Third-wheeler life is over’
As she celebrated the couple, Mwalimu Rachel also used the occasion to share a light-hearted message about being single.
She said the wedding had officially ended her days of being the extra person around the newlyweds, joking that it was now time for single women to focus on their own love lives.
“Okay! The wedding is done. Single ladies, it’s our time now. If that man is serious about you, he will put a ring on it. Otherwise, let’s live life. This life of me being a third wheeler has ended today!” she said.
The media personality added that she enjoys celebrating love and said she was happy to play a special role during the ceremony by creating content for the couple.
“I love love, and that’s why I genuinely radiate around it. I was their personal content creator today. Loved it. Ahhh, love is a beautiful thing! DJ Xclusive and Mshai, may God bless you,” she added.
From Dubai proposal to wedding day
DJ Xclusive and Mshai’s journey towards marriage became public in January 2026 after the radio presenter proposed to her.
A video of the proposal circulated widely on social media, showing the DJ going down on one knee as he asked Mshai to marry him. The proposal was reported to have taken place in Dubai, with fans and fellow entertainers congratulating the couple.
The proposal also attracted attention because DJ Xclusive, despite being known for openly discussing relationships and marriage, has largely kept details of his own love life away from the public.
A traditional celebration
Months after the proposal, the couple brought together family and friends for their traditional wedding ceremony. The celebration featured a colourful display of culture, fashion and family as the couple marked their union in front of guests.
Photos and videos shared from the ceremony showed the newlyweds enjoying the occasion alongside friends and colleagues from the entertainment and media industry.
For Mwalimu Rachel, however, the day was not only about attending a colleague’s wedding. It was also a chance to celebrate two people she knows closely as they began married life.
