Digital creators Nebz and Nyathira give fan fresh start with new home in Makueni

Kenyan content creators Nebz and Nyathira have touched the lives of one of their fans after helping provide him with a new modern home in Wote, Makueni County.

The couple, through their Dons Foundation, stepped in to support the beneficiary, who had been living in a mud house. Images and videos shared online show the newly completed house, with the transformation attracting attention from their followers.

The gesture has sparked conversations about the changing role of social-media creators in Kenya. While influencers are largely known for entertainment, brand partnerships and lifestyle content, some are increasingly using their platforms and resources to support people in their communities.

For the beneficiary, the project represents more than a new building. Moving from a mud house into a modern home means having a more secure and comfortable environment and a place that can provide a sense of dignity and stability.

“But this is what you get guys eh? This is what you get. If you keep trusting in God, pushing and exploring the right channels,” Nebz said.

The new project therefore adds another dimension to their work, showing how their interest in homes can extend beyond their personal lives and benefit someone within their wider community.

The transformation has also resonated with social-media users because it represents a lasting form of assistance. Unlike cash gifts or short-term giveaways, a home can provide long-term value and potentially improve the beneficiary’s quality of life for years to come.

The gesture comes as Kenya’s influencer culture continues to evolve, with content creators building large communities that sometimes extend beyond entertainment. Followers increasingly look to popular personalities for inspiration, financial support, opportunities and social initiatives.

For Nebz and Nyathira, the project is another example of how digital influence can translate into something tangible away from the screen.
