Diana Bahati reacts after Lenana School unrest forces son Morgan to return home

By , June 2, 2026

Socialite Diana Bahati has expressed concern following unrest at Lenana School that led to the suspension of normal operations and the return of students to their homes, including her son, Morgan.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Diana revealed that the first call she received on the morning of the incident came from the school, requesting parents to make arrangements to pick up their children after unrest and destruction broke out the previous night.

She questioned the growing trend of unrest in schools, asking why one strike often appears to trigger similar incidents in other institutions, leading to widespread disruption of learning.

“The first call we received this morning was from Lenana School. We were asked to make arrangements to pick up our son, @morgan_bahati, after unrest and destruction broke out at the school the previous night, forcing the institution to suspend normal operations. What is happening to our schools? Why does it seem that when one school experiences a strike, several others soon follow?” Diana said.

The content creator said she found it difficult listening to her son narrate what happened during the chaos, describing the experience as emotionally overwhelming and hard to comprehend.

She added that the situation raised serious concerns about safety and discipline in schools, noting that she has shared more details of the incident on her YouTube channel.

“Listening to Morgan narrate what transpired was difficult, and trying to comprehend the events was even harder. We share the full account of how the events unfolded on YouTube,” she added.

Morgan’s explanation

According to Morgan, the unrest began after prefects had gone for a day out and were returning to school when they suddenly encountered a heavy police presence and rising commotion within the institution.

He described how, around 8:30 pm, chaos erupted as individuals began breaking windows, while students attempted to understand what was happening.

“So, prefects had a day out, and we were coming back to school from that outing when we suddenly saw police everywhere. It was around 8:30 at night, and there was commotion and people were breaking windows,” the socialite’s son said.

Morgan further stated that the school principal was attacked during the incident, with individuals throwing a stone that injured his head, before he was forcibly taken out of his office.

He added that CCTV cameras within the school were cut off during the unrest, after which the group proceeded to break into teachers’ offices and damage vehicles parked within the school compound.

“They even beat the principal and threw a stone at his head. They went to the principal’s office, took him out, then cut all the CCTV in the school,” he added.

The student also reported attempts to set parts of the school on fire, alongside looting incidents where food items, including bread from the kitchen, were taken during the chaos.

Morgan said the situation quickly escalated, with students caught in the middle of the unrest, leading to injuries. He recounted one case where a student fell from the second floor and suffered a spinal injury, while another sustained a broken leg.

“So they then started breaking teachers’ offices and their cars also, and they also attempted to light a fire. They then went to the kitchen, stole bread and everything, and during the commotion, a lot of students suffered. I remember one was pushed from the second floor and fell and broke his spine, another one had his leg broken,” he recalled.

He further explained that students were unable to access dormitories due to threats from the group, which he said had concealed their identities and warned they would burn the dorms if approached.

“We could not go to the dorms because those rioters said they would burn the dorms and they had hidden their faces like Al-Shabaab,” Morgan said.
