Controversy as Obidan Dela suggests women monetise cheating in relationships

TikToker Obidan Dela has sparked debate online after sharing controversial views on infidelity, suggesting that women who choose to cheat should at least consider the financial benefits from such relationships.
Speaking in a TikTok video on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Obidan questioned situations where women remain committed to partners who, according to him, fail to support them financially while spending lavishly on other women.
He argued that some women struggle in their relationships, taking care of their partners and homes, only for their partners to spend money and provide experiences for other women.
“Ladies, if you have a chance of cheating because of money, please do cheat. You know men cheat because of petty reasons. So ladies, monetise your cheating,” Obidan said.
He went on to explain that some men are attracted to women based on changes in appearance and lifestyle, arguing that women should also consider their own interests when making relationship choices.
“You see, men can see a lady has a new tattoo, and that attracts us, or a lady with a new BBL, and we admire them. What I mean is impressing men can be hard,” he added.

Obidan further questioned why some women remain in relationships where they feel neglected, despite putting in effort to support their partners.
He gave an example of women who invest their time in cooking and caring for their partners but still feel unappreciated when compared to women their partners choose to spend money on.
“You may be there cooking all foods, and he has not even paid insurance for you, but he will go out and meet another lady and take her to Zanzibar,” he said.
The media personality also claimed that some women remain committed to partners who do not take them out or support them financially, even as those same partners spend heavily on entertainment and luxury lifestyles elsewhere.
“You have never even been taken to local points of interest like KICC, but you are there claiming he is your man,” Obidan said.
He concluded by saying women should avoid struggling financially in relationships where their partners appear to prioritise spending on other people.
“So if you have a chance of cheating, cheat for money. You cannot keep borrowing people’s money, yet you are dating a man, and your man goes out to clubs and drinks expensive alcohol, but you are there borrowing money,” he said.
