Musician Arrow Bwoy has spoken out after his defeat to Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham in the celebrity boxing event Vurugu 2, held on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Arrow Bwoy, who stepped into the ring for the first time, admitted the experience was tougher than expected, describing boxing as far more demanding than it appears from the outside.

The bout ended in a technical knockout, with Shakib dominating the early exchanges and forcing a stoppage in a fight that had drawn massive attention due to the pre-fight rivalry and celebrity presence.

In his reflection, Arrow Bwoy said he walked into the ring with courage but quickly learned firsthand the sport’s intensity.

He revealed that he had only 20 days of training leading up to the fight, compounded by health complications that affected his preparation.

Despite the setback, he maintained that stepping into the ring was a personal test of courage and discipline.

“Respect to Shakib Cham for the win and big up to Oga Obinna and the team for putting this together,” he said, acknowledging both his opponent and the organisers.

Tough lesson learned

Arrow Bwoy admitted that the loss carried valuable lessons, saying boxing goes beyond physical strength.

“Last night didn’t go my way, but I walked away with something more valuable experience,” he noted.

He added that the fight exposed him to the mental demands of the sport, stressing that discipline, endurance, and mental strength are just as important as throwing punches.

“Boxing si rahisi,” he said, summarising the experience in a phrase that quickly resonated with fans online.

No regrets

The singer insisted that the defeat should not be viewed as failure but as part of growth. He said he was proud of stepping out of his comfort zone and testing himself in a completely new arena.

According to him, the experience has only strengthened his determination to improve and possibly return stronger in future bouts.

“A loss is not the end of the story. It’s part of the journey,” he reflected.

Arrow Bwoy also thanked fans, trainers, and supporters who backed him through the preparation and during the fight night.

The Vurugu 2 event, organised by media personality Oga Obinna, featured a mix of celebrity and professional bouts, making it one of the most talked-about entertainment sporting events of the year.
