Benny Hinn Walubengo officially unveiled as secretary general of Ndindi Nyoro’s party
By Valerian Khakayi, September 22, 2026Young Kenyan public speaker, author, and political figure Benny Hinn Walubengo has officially been unveiled as the Secretary General of Ndindi Nyoro’s People’s Party.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 2026, by the party, which unveiled its first set of designated officials as it moves to strengthen its leadership ahead of the next phase of its political activities.
According to the statement, Walubengo, who represents Nairobi County, is the youngest member of the newly announced leadership team at 24 years old.
“The Secretary General of the Party is 24 years old, Hinn Walubengo. Intelligent, articulate,” Ndindi said.
Walubengo will serve alongside other officials, including Riziki Makokha, who was named Deputy Party Leader; Samora K’alosi as Chairperson; Mwanamisi Swaleh as Vice Chairperson; and John Kihiu as Deputy Secretary General for Administration Affairs.
Mahad Abdi was named treasurer, while Dr Jane Sibia was appointed organising secretary.
The party said its new leadership had met earlier in the day to deliberate on various issues affecting the country.
“We will work solidly with all parties within the opposition as we offer credible policy alternatives for the revival of our economy,” Ndindi said.
He concluded the statement with the party’s message of continental ambition, saying, “We are African, and Africa is our business.”
Walubengo on politics
Walubengo’s appointment comes after he previously spoke about his growing involvement in Kenyan politics, describing his journey as part of a bigger purpose.
“Niliwekwa kama national secretary wa one of the largest parties in this country, hiyo sio ata story na chama lakini ni the fact that God is intentional in shaping generational templete, and I believe that this nation shall change,” Walubengo said.
The young politician has also spoken about the need for Kenyans to combine prayer with practical action when seeking change.
“Hatuichange tu na maombi tunaichange na kuwa very action-orientated. In 2042 I will be the president of Kenya,” Walubengo said.
His appointment now places him in a formal leadership position within the People’s Party as the outfit seeks to establish its structures and articulate its political agenda.
At 24, Walubengo’s rise into the party’s national leadership adds to his profile as a young public speaker, author, corporate trainer and political figure.
The party has said its newly designated officials will work towards offering policy alternatives and contributing to discussions on the country’s economic direction.
For Walubengo, the new role marks another step in his political journey, which he has previously described as part of a broader generational responsibility.
