Anyang’ Nyong’o’s daughter Zawadi celebrates 4th anniversary with heartfelt tribute to wife
By Ascah Mwango, August 9, 2026Zawadi Nyong’o, daughter of Kisumu Governor Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o, has celebrated her fourth wedding anniversary with a heartfelt tribute to her wife, describing her as her best friend and partner through life.
Zawadi marked the milestone on Saturday, August 8, 2026, sharing a message on her Instagram page as the couple celebrated four years of marriage.
“8/8/26 Happy 4 Year Anniversary Habibi! ❤️ I love you so much. Thank you for being my wife – my ride or die, my bob, my best friend,” Zawadi wrote.
Zawadi thanked her wife for remaining by her side through difficult moments and for continuing to believe in their relationship.
“Thank you for standing still in the storm and for believing in me and us through it all. I’m so lucky to walk through life with you,” she stated.
Zawadi also used the anniversary message to acknowledge the importance of being seen and appreciated in a relationship, before ending her tribute with another declaration of love.
“I see you. I appreciate you. I love you,” she added.
The anniversary comes as Zawadi has increasingly shared glimpses of her family life and relationship with her followers on social media. Her Instagram account shows her documenting different moments from her personal life, including family celebrations and milestones.
In October 2025, Zawadi publicly spoke about her LGBTQ+ identity and introduced her partner and child, a move that attracted considerable attention in Kenya and beyond.
Her relationship has since remained a subject of public interest, particularly because of her family background. Zawadi is the daughter of Anyang’ Nyong’o, the long-serving Kisumu Governor and former Cabinet minister, and the sister of Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.
