Amber Ray reveals why she stopped drinking after undergoing cosmetic surgery

Socialite Amber Ray has revealed why she temporarily stopped drinking alcohol after undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Speaking during Natalie Githinji’s Endometriosis Warriors event at KICC on Sunday, September 27, 2026, Amber said her doctor advised her to stay away from alcohol to give her body enough time to heal.

Amber said she had initially resumed drinking shortly after the procedures, having a glass of wine before her doctor warned her that alcohol could interfere with her recovery.

“After surgery, ’cause I was not feeling that bad, I’ll start with alcohol. I started drinking my cup, like a glass of wine, and then my doctor said to me, he was like, ‘Amber, you need to stop at least for a month so that you can heal vizuri; it doesn’t affect your healing process,’” she said.

Three weeks without alcohol

Following the advice, Amber said she stopped drinking and had gone about three weeks without alcohol by the time of the event.

“So I had to stop. So for a month I’ve not been drinking. Not a month, I think three weeks sasa. Three weeks, yeah. Na it’s a month next week,” she said.

She explained that she has also been paying attention to her diet as part of her recovery, noting that what she eats can affect her progress.

Amber’s comments come after she recently underwent several cosmetic procedures and has been sharing updates on her recovery.

Amber Ray’s Turkey transformation

Amber travelled to Turkey in September for a series of cosmetic procedures, which she has been documenting on social media.

She previously revealed that her initial plan involved breast implants and Lipo 360. She later agreed to an additional fat-transfer procedure to her calves after her doctor suggested it.

“Go yes… boobs, Lipo 360, and calves,” Amber stated when listing the procedures she opted for.

The influencer also underwent dental work during the trip, revealing that she had 21 teeth done at approximately Ksh44,000 each.

“Well, 1 tooth is around 44k, and I’m doing 21 teeth,” she said.

The dental work was estimated at about Ksh924,000, bringing the cost close to Ksh1 million.
