Ademba Allans warns Kenya is becoming increasingly unsafe after recent Nairobi restaurant robbery

Ademba Allans has raised concern over the country’s security after CCTV footage showed two armed robbers storming a restaurant in Nairobi, holding customers at gunpoint.

In a post on Monday, July 6, 2026, he said the incident reflects a worrying trend of growing insecurity and lawlessness in the country.

According to Ademba, cases of armed robberies and goon attacks are becoming more common, yet those responsible are rarely held accountable. He linked the restaurant robbery to other recent incidents that have raised concern about public safety.

“Haiti started this way. Now armed thieves can storm cafes in broad daylight, and nothing happens to them,” Ademba Allans said.

He also pointed to other incidents that he believes show the country is becoming increasingly unsafe. Ademba mentioned cases of goons blocking major roads and violence linked to recent public gatherings.

“Goons can block Thika Road and no one is held responsible. Goons are being sent kwa church. An innocent man just died at the Linda Mwananchi rally as a result of goons,” Ademba Allans said.

CCTV footage captures armed robbery

The CCTV footage captured the robbery taking place on June 4, 2026, at around 10:35 pm. According to the footage, two young men arrived at the restaurant on two motorcycles before entering the premises.

Moments later, two armed suspects moved through the restaurant while pointing guns at customers. They ordered those inside to hand over their valuables as frightened diners complied with their demands.

The footage also shows one customer managing to escape through the restaurant’s back door. Other diners also fled after the robbers had taken their belongings.

After collecting the valuables, the suspects walked out of the restaurant. As a staff member entered the premises shortly afterwards, one of the robbers pointed a gun at him and threatened him before leaving.

The robbery unfolded within a few minutes and has added to concerns over attacks targeting people in public places. The incident has also renewed debate about the growing cases of goon-related violence and crime in different parts of the country.

Ademba’s remarks came after the CCTV footage circulated online, with the robbery adding to recent incidents that have raised questions about security in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
