7 years in Christ! Reggae icon Alaine confirms her faith remains unshaken after quitting secular music

Jamaican reggae powerhouse turned gospel minister Alaine Laughton has proudly declared that her walk of faith remains entirely unshaken, seven years after walking away from secular music to follow Christ.

Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the ‘No Ordinary Love’ songstress shared a beautiful, smiling photo accompanied by a heartfelt, emotional tribute to God’s unwavering faithfulness in her life.

For many artistes, transitioning away from the lucrative secular music industry can be a daunting and unstable path, but Alaine’s latest update proves she has found absolute peace and fulfilment in her salvation.

In her moving post, the singer counted her blessings and expressed profound gratitude for the continuous spiritual protection and emotional healing she has experienced since making her transition.

“I smile, because I know what God has and keeps doing for me,” an ecstatic Alaine wrote.

“He keeps me. He heals me. He delivers me. He guides me. He comforts me. He prospers me. He protects me. He inspires me. He forgives me.”

She went on to reaffirm her absolute devotion to the teachings of Christ, adding: “He knows the plans He has for me and I trust Him with all my heart. 😄❤️”

Alaine’s spiritual journey first captured global attention on Saturday, July 21, 2018, when she made the monumental decision to publicly declare her new faith through water baptism.

The life-changing service was conducted by Pastor Ryan Mark at the Pure in Heart Ministries International church in Kingston, Jamaica.

Following the immersion, an overjoyed Alaine took to social media to share her excitement with millions of fans across the globe.

Quoting the biblical scripture Isaiah 43:19, she famously wrote at the time: “Best Saturday morning everrrrrrrrr!!!!! I LOVE GOD sooooo much!!!! I got baptized this morning.. and what a JOY!!!!!!”

Alaine’s decision to become a born-again Christian was particularly celebrated across East Africa, where she commands a massive, fiercely loyal fanbase.

Interestingly, her public salvation occurred roughly a year after she collaborated with Kenyan artist Willy Paul on their historic, chart-topping wedding anthem, ‘I Do’.

The song ironically served as one of her final massive secular projects before she shifted her musical and spiritual focus entirely toward gospel ministry.

Seven years later, Alaine’s steadfastness and glowing testimony continue to serve as a powerful beacon of inspiration for both her gospel peers and music fans worldwide.
