Catherine Wambugu confirms burial dates for colleagues lost in Nyahururu road accident

In a post on Facebook on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Wambugu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their overwhelming support, messages, and prayers during this difficult period.
“Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Well-wishers, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the enormous concern, visits, prayers, and messages of condolences we have received. I am truly touched by the love and care you have shown during this difficult time,” she wrote.
The businesswoman revealed that Dominic will be laid to rest on Monday, while Terry’s burial is scheduled for Wednesday.
Wambugu assured the public that specific locations for both services will be communicated as soon as arrangements are finalised.
“Many of you have asked how you can support us as we prepare for the send-off of our colleagues, Dominic and Terry. Dominic will be laid to rest this coming Monday, and Terry will be laid to rest on Wednesday. We will communicate the specific locations for both services as soon as possible,” she wrote.

Catherine then revealed that friends and colleagues are meeting daily from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Ndanga Hotel, first floor, in Ruiru, to assist with preparations for the funerals.

On that note, the businesswoman conveyed her appreciation for the continued concern and support from her network, noting that the messages of sympathy and visits have provided comfort.

Tragic crash
The tragic accident involving Catherine and her associates occurred on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, along the Nyeri-Nyahururu Highway, when the businesswoman’s Toyota Land Cruiser Prado collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Canter lorry.
The force of the impact left both vehicles extensively damaged, with the Prado sustaining severe damage from the front driver’s side to the rear, while the lorry’s driver side was completely destroyed.
Catherine survived the crash with minor injuries, including scrapes and bruises on her face, but two of her employees, Dominic and Terry, lost their lives, alongside the driver of the lorry.
