Caroline Mutoko cautions Gen Zs after Sifuna’s Kitengela rally

By , February 16, 2026

Renowned media personality Caroline Mutoko has weighed in on the political developments in the country following yesterday’s political rally in Kitengela that was attended by a sea of humanity.

In a statement on her Facebook account on Monday, February 16, 2026, Mutoko cautioned Kenya’s Gen Zs that the hype and support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will amount to nothing if they fail to register as voters.

She explained that the real impact can only be felt at the ballot if they register and vote.

The media star added that failure to do so will see all the hype and the loyalty to Sifuna and Kenya’s progress amount to nothing.

“The turnout, the hype and the support of ‘Sifunafied’ are great, but unless you register as a voter and vote, it’s just noise and a good time.

Register as voters

Her rallying call mirrors the concerns of many others, including former Chief Justice David Maraga, musician Henry Ohanga, popularly known as Octopizzo, and activist Boniface Mwangi, who have all urged Kenyans to make their voices count by registering as voters and casting their ballots to kick out the current regime.

Sifuna caused a stir in Kenya’s political scene after teaming up with Babu Owino and James Orengo to hold a huge rally in Kitengela on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The rally was attended by thousands, with Gen Zs warming up to the ODM Secretary General, and was lively compared to a parallel one held at Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa. The Tononoka rally lacked colour, with the rally failing to attract the huge crowds that the party was known to attract in the region.

According to Suba South Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi, the rally was organised by Gen Zs.

The lawmaker exuded confidence that the outfit is capable of marshalling 16 million votes to tilt the scales in favour of the opposition in the 2027 elections.

“We have done our analysis, and I think we can bring a coalition of 16 million votes, including Gen Zs, and we are happy. Actually, Kitengela was a Gen Z rally. They organised it themselves; they planned it. We were just mere guests,” Omondi said.
