Ben Githae reveals what women should prioritise wearing after viral TikTokers’ fight

Kikuyu gospel singer Ben Githae has weighed in on the importance of decent dressing for women following a viral altercation involving two TikTokers during a burial in Murang’a.
In a reflective post shared on his Facebook page on Friday, March 27, 2026, the singer said he came across a video of the two women, described as popular TikTok personalities, engaging in a physical fight in a village setting, an incident that quickly drew widespread attention online.
Githae noted that the chaotic nature of the fight, which saw the two women roll on the ground, exposed parts of their clothing, prompting him to reflect on the role of proper dressing in such unexpected situations.
He particularly pointed out that one of the women appeared to be wearing biker shorts underneath, which helped prevent further exposure during the scuffle.
“Dear all, I watched a video of two town girls fighting in the village and I realised the importance of biker shorts. Whoever designed those inner clothes should truly be blessed. I can only imagine what we would have seen; I would have wished to be blind. What could have been exposed would have been too much, and my eyes would not have resisted seeing it. Biker shorts all the way; they deserve respect,” he wrote.
According to the musician, the incident underscored the importance of innerwear, suggesting that without it, the situation could have been far more revealing and uncomfortable for both the individuals involved and those watching.
He added that such moments highlight how easily one can find themselves in compromising situations, making preparedness in dressing essential.
“I hear the two girls are very popular on TikTok, but due to my old age, I do not know them. I was shocked imagining what could have happened if they were not properly dressed,” Githae added.

The singer went on to draw parallels with his own childhood, recalling a similar incident during his primary school days, where two girls got into a fight.
He described how, at the time, undergarments, which he referred to using a local term, were loosely fitted, and much of the struggle during such fights involved trying to keep them in place.
Githae used the anecdote to emphasise his broader message, urging people to be mindful of how they dress, including wearing appropriate inner clothing, as unpredictable situations can arise at any time. He maintained that such preparedness helps preserve dignity even in chaotic or embarrassing circumstances.
“That incident reminded me of a fight that once happened when I was in primary school. One girl was in Class 8 and the other in Class 5, and we were all called to watch. Back then, innerwear was called wandirikinyi and was made of elastic material, and the biggest concern during such fights was making sure it did not fall off,” he wrote.
At the same time, he cautioned against engaging in physical confrontations altogether, stressing that no one should resort to street fights regardless of the situation.
“Disclaimer: A civilised person should never engage in a street fight,” he wrote.
