Baby Top thrilled as Gikonyore is confirmed among those heading with her to UK

Popular Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, popularly known as Baby Top, has expressed excitement after content creator John Gikonyore was unveiled among the key public figures she will be travelling with to the UK for the upcoming Wendo Festival.
In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, January 29, 2026, the media personality openly expressed her excitement over the development, noting that Gikonyore’s moment had finally arrived.
“Johnarto Gikonyore amefikiwo na safari ya WendoFestival sahii sahii kule UK! .. The Drunken Master,” she wrote.
At the same time, Baby Top expressed hope that future out-of-the-country events will also consider including her show’s co-host, Chef Gathemba.
“CHEF Gathemba, sasa wewe ndio tunangoja passport itoke,” she added.

Key event
The UK event in question is the highly anticipated Wendo Festival, which is set to take place at the Bedford Blues Rugby Club in the UK on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 12 noon to 11 pm, followed by an afterparty running from 11 pm to 5 am.
According to a promotional poster that Baby Top also shared, other artistes highlighted as headliners include one-man guitarist and benga icon Waithaka wa Jane, DJ Dibul, and Baby Top herself.
USA festival
The announcement comes just months after Baby Top, together with a troupe of popular Kikuyu artistes, also travelled to the United States for the ‘Ngemi cia Ruraya’ festival.
During the event, Baby Top, alongside celebrated Mugithi star Samidoh, lit up the cultural gathering with an unforgettable showcase of talent, rhythm, and unfiltered joy.
Muthoni Baby Top, who served as the event’s main master of ceremonies, was at the centre of the celebration’s energy, seamlessly blending her witty commentary with lively crowd engagement.

When Samidoh took to the stage, Muthoni continued hyping him up while passionately cheering him on.
The chemistry between the two public figures electrified the gathering, and in a moment that perfectly captured the mood of the night, Muthoni removed her shoes and began dancing barefoot on the podium.
Her spontaneous display of celebration drew wild cheers from the crowd, with many joining in by waving handkerchiefs and flags as the venue erupted into a joyous expression of music and unity.
The event, which brought together hundreds of Kenyans living abroad, particularly from the Kikuyu community, served as a cultural homecoming, reconnecting members of the diaspora with familiar sounds, traditions, and voices from home.
The event was held at Saghalie Middle School.
