Andrew Kibe warns men against relying on others to make life decisions
By William Muthama, February 4, 2026Media personality Andrew Kibe has warned men about the dangers of depending on others to make important life decisions.
Speaking on his Instagram page on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Kibe emphasised that men should take full control of their relationships, careers, and personal choices.
“As a man, you should be able to make your decisions all the time,” Kibe said.
He cautioned against forming a committee of friends, family, or social circles to approve your life choices, stressing that this approach often dilutes personal responsibility and creates unnecessary confusion.
Kibe argued that a man must trust his own instincts and take ownership of every decision, whether it’s about love, work, or personal growth.
Embrace responsibility
Kibe highlighted the importance of owning both successes and mistakes. “Own your shit. The same way you own your successes,” he said, urging men to be accountable for their actions.
According to Kibe, relying on others may seem helpful, but it often leads to regret and frustration.

He explained that a man who avoids responsibility or lets others dictate choices ends up trapped in a cycle of second-guessing and missed opportunities. Instead, men should align their decisions with their values, passions, and personal happiness, ensuring that they create a life they can truly call their own.
Focus on what matters
Kibe also encouraged men to pursue what genuinely excites and motivates them. “As long as there’s fire there, you’re good,” he said, underlining that external opinions, comparison with others, or societal pressure should never define your life path.
He noted that every individual’s journey is unique, and trying to replicate someone else’s story or follow others’ advice blindly often leads to unnecessary stress.
Kibe reminded men that embracing their uniqueness and taking charge of their lives builds confidence, resilience, and long-term satisfaction.
“There’s nobody who can handle being like anybody else. Whatever you’ve been given, that is your portion. That is your story. If you have a child and a woman, it makes sense. That is your portion. Nobody can be like another person. You can’t wish to be like another person,” he said.
