Police nab 7 linked to series of phone snatching in Nairobi
By Cynthia Lodite, September 30, 2025Police officers from Kabete Police Station have apprehended seven key persons of interest linked to phone snatching and various offenses along the Naivasha Road.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the National Police Service revealed that they had arrested seven people after officers had mounted an operation in Dagoretti Sub-County along Naivasha Road.

“Acting on intelligence, police officers from Kabete Police Station in Dagoretti Sub-County mounted an operation along Naivasha Road, leading to the arrest of seven suspects involved in various offenses,” NPS said.
Likewise, during the detailed operation, the officers intercepted a motorcycle where at least two key persons of interest linked to phone snatching were apprehended.
Also, police revealed that the duo were accompanied by three accomplices believed to be handling stolen goods.
On the other hand, the officers nabbed one key person of interest linked to possession of bhang, while another individual was apprehended for riding a motorcycle without valid insurance.
“During the operation, two suspected phone snatchers on a motorcycle were intercepted, along with three accomplices believed to be handling stolen goods. Another suspect was arrested for possession of bhang, while a further individual was apprehended for riding a motorcycle without valid insurance,” NPS said.

Arraignment in Court
According to the National Police Service, the persons of interest were placed in custody pending processing and arraignment in court, while the motorcycle used in the illegal activities, along with other recovered exhibits, has been secured at the Kabete Police Station.

The National Police Service has commended the officers for their vigilance and quick response, reaffirming its commitment to dismantling criminal networks.
Similarly, the Service has further appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and to support law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or anonymously through the hotlines.
