Kibera Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Orero’s driver, George Oduor, has been arraigned in court and charged with dangerous overtaking contrary to Rule 73 (4) as read with Rule 99 of the Traffic Rules, CAP 403, Laws of Kenya.

According to the charge sheet, Oduor was captured on video on October 9, 2025, at about 1440 hours along Oloitoktok Road within Nairobi County, being the driver of motor vehicle registration number KBN 546S, a Toyota Prado, which dangerously overtook a line of motor vehicles.

Appearing before Milimani Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi on Monday, October 13, 2025, Oduor pleaded guilty to the offence and urged the court to forgive him and grant him a lenient sentence.

Oduor told the court that he was trying to evade traffic because he was rushing to the airport, noting that this was his first offence and promising the court that if forgiven, he would not repeat such an offence.

“I was rushing to the airport and noticed there was a traffic jam. As I was trying to overtake, I met another vehicle. I am asking the court to forgive me since it is my first offence. I plead with the court to forgive me, and I will not repeat it again,” Oduor pleaded.
