The Kinoo social media activist, Ndiangui Kinyagia, who has been missing since June 21, 2025, has presented himself at the Milimani High Court.

Kinyagia arrived at Milimani accompanied by family lawyer Wahome Thuku on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

During the court proceedings, lawyer Kibe Mungai, who is also representing the family, narrated to the court how he was informed that the blogger called his family from an undisclosed location, confirming to them that he was well.

He also told the court that the family requested him to represent them in court.

Further, he told the court that he advised the family to get in touch with Ndiangui and let him know the importance of appearing in court, which had ordered the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to appear before it and explain his whereabouts.

“Your honour, I informed them that because this was a matter that was going to appear before you this morning, they ought to get in touch with him and inform him that it would be prudent for him to come and appear before you this morning,” lawyer Kibe told the court.

He noted that they took his advice, and lawyer Thuku walked into the court accompanied by the missing social media activist.

Further, he argued that his client looks and sounds very traumatised, urging the court to allow him and his family to have time with him, brief him on the matters concerning the case, and also have him taken to the hospital.

Lawyer Kibe emphasised that his client looks stressed, and he urged the court to grant the family and him time to be able to talk with him in confidence and in privacy.

“I have heard a brief conversation with Kinyagia; he appears and sounds very traumatised, and therefore, because we were in court and the cameras were all over us, I have not had a session to brief him on the relevant matters that are the subject of these proceedings,” lawyer Kibe told the court.

His request was supported by Senior Counsel Martha Karua and lawyer Willis Otieno, among other lawyers who were representing the petitioners, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) as the first petitioner and Ndiangui Kinyagia as the second petitioner.

Justice Chacha Mwita has granted the family their wish and also directed that they take him to the hospital for medical attention.
