Man who claims to be Ruto’s son wants police officer to undergo mental assessment
By Zipporah Ngwatu, September 25, 2025Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, alias Nelson Muriithi, a man who admitted breaking into Bunge Towers thrice unlawfully looking for his 13 wives, has not yet been subjected to a mental check-up as instructed earlier by a Nairobi court.
According to the report presented in court, Kidero was referred for a mental check-up at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), but was not attended to due to the overwhelming number of patients that were waiting for the same service.

Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, emphasised to Kidero the importance of the exercise before the court allows him to plead to unlawful entry into parliamentary precincts, contrary to section 31 (1) (a) as read with section 31 (2) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act 2017.
“You know this is a court, and this is the second time you have been brought here, and the offence is that you were trying to access Parliament, and that is why, before you take a plea, you have to understand the charges you are facing,” Magistrate Ekhubi told the court.
“The matter has taken long because of the issue of your mental assessment, and what I have been told today is that there were overwhelming patients in Kenyatta Hospital; that is why you were not assessed,” the magistrate added.
Magistrate Ekhubi further noted that statements in court assured him that he was not fit to plead to the charges.
“What you are saying to me, as much as I appreciate it, informs me that you are not really okay, even though I’m not a doctor,” Ekhubi stated.
As the magistrate was enquiring from a lady police officer whether they had booked him for another assessment, Kidero interrupted the officer after she said they can arrange for one and said he does not need any other appointment and that he is okay.
Mental assessment
He told the court that the police officer should instead go for the said mental assessment instead of him leaving the court attendees, including the police officer, laughing.
“Nooo, me, I don’t want any arrangement; hata yeye aende hospitali atibiwe akili yake,” Kidero told the court.
The Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) on August 8, 2025, urged the court for 14 days to allow Kidero for a mental assessment before being charged, which the court granted, but up to now, he has not been able to be assessed.
According to court papers, Kidero is said to have been caught on July 30, 2025, and August 7, 2025, accessing Bunge Towers unlawfully.
“On July 30, 2025, at around 0645 hours in Nairobi within Nairobi County, you were found at the reception area of the 24th floor of Bunge Towers without unlawful authority,” part of the charge sheet read.
“On August 7, 2025, at around 2130 hours in Nairobi, within Nairobi County, you were found at the parking area of the Bunge Towers without lawful authority,” part of the charge read.
Appearing before Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi on Friday, August 8, 2025, Kidero pleaded with the court to forgive him for his actions.
The court has directed that he still be taken for the mental assessment.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Kidero claimed he is President William Ruto’s son.
