Ex-Governor among persons to appear in court this week over graft

Former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal is expected before the Milimani Anti-corruption court this week where he faces graft and abuse of office charges.

Lenolkulal was charged in 2019 with four counts of abuse of office and conflict of interest which led to the loss of public money to the tune of Ksh84 million from the County Government of Samburu.

The former Governor is accused of knowingly acquiring contracts between Oryx Service Station which he owns, and Samburu County Government for the supply of fuel.

The case is set for mention on Thursday, June 13, 2024, for directions after judgment on an appeal launched in the same court has been passed. The appeal judgment is expected on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

KEBS officials in court

A case involving former KEBS boss Charles Ongwae and other officials is set for ruling on Monday, June 10, 2024, on the prosecutor’s application.

Ongwae and other senior management officers from KEBS face charges of abuse of charges relating to the importation of substandard goods into the country.

Cecilia Samba Mwashigadi and other officials of the Nairobi City County will have a date with the court when their cases related to bribery will be up for mention on Tuesday, June 11, 2014.

Melda Odira an employee of the Kenya Revenue Authority will also appear for mention on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in a case relating to abuse of office. She is charged with illegal issuance of a Certificate of Compliance.

Another case involving KRA officials will see Fernandes Munyasya Mutui and three others appear for a mention on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, to confirm if typed proceedings are ready. Their case relates to bribery charges.
